The Government of Nunavut and the Kivalliq Inuit Association are inviting nominations from Rankin Inlet for the Iqalugaarjuup Nunanga Territorial Park Community Joint Planning and Management Committee (CJPMC).

Under the terms of the Umbrella Inuit Impact Benefit Agreement for the Territorial Parks in the Nunavut Settlement Area (IIBA), the Government of Nunavut (GN) and the Kivalliq Inuit Association (KIA) must appoint six (6) representatives to the Iqalugaarjuup Nunanga Community Joint Planning and Management Committee.

The purpose of the Community Joint Planning and Management Committee is to provide advice and recommendations to the GN on all aspects related to the planning, establishment, operation and management of specific Territorial Parks: in this case, the Iqalugaarjuup Nunanga Territorial Park.

The Kivalliq Inuit Association on behalf of the Inuit of Nunavut is responsible for making three (3) appointments to the Iqalugaarjuup Nunanga CJPMC.

The Department of Environment on behalf of the Government of Nunavut is responsible for making three (3) appointments to the Iqalugaarjuup Nunanga CJPMC.

The Kivalliq Inuit Association and the Government of Nunavut are seeking individuals who demonstrate an interest, knowledge and experience in parks, tourism and Inuit culture & heritage and wish to make a contribution to the establishment, co-management and planning of the Iqalugaarjuup Nunanga Territorial Park.
